You may ask yourself, "...yes, but can I afford the equipment needed for solar electricity?"  The real answer is, "...YOU can't afford NOT to begin using SOLAR energy!"  Here's why:

• The cost of electricity is skyrocketing, and is going to continue going up, and up, and up.  We have already been warned by both government and utility sources that the cost of electricity will soon triple.  This means that an average family with a $298 electric bill will be paying nearly $1000 per month JUST FOR ELECTRICITY!
   
• The greatest portion of the fossil fuels (more than 85% of it) that power our electric generation plants lies in the Middle East; an area that is, and will continue to be, unstable.

Only a few years ago (2002) the going rate for electricity was just 4.2¢ per kilowatt hour and there was no so-called allotment system.  Today, that going rate is 11.8¢ and under the allotment system instituted just three years ago, if you go over your randomly set allotment, you will pay a premium price of 21¢ to 24¢ per kilowatt hour...and the electric utility companies have filed recently for ANOTHER set of increases which will boost your cost for basic electricity at nearly 18¢ per kilowatt hour and an over-allotment cost of up to 32¢ per kilowatt hour!!!

Now, information on this site will show you that our global atmosphere is likely to continue to heat up the atmosphere causing an increased greenhouse affect.  This will make it even hotter and hotter year after year where you live causing you to use your air conditioner more and more, driving your kilowatt hour usage up and up.

It is entirely conceivable that within the next 5 years you could be paying in excess of $1,200 per month just for your electricity if you already aren't paying that much already!  And if you ARE paying that much already, imagine how much you will be paying in that 5-year time frame.
